- Title
IPO Market Set to Awaken.
- Authors
Marshall, Jeffrey
- Abstract
The article discusses the market for initial public offerings (IPO) in light of significant increases in the number of companies going public. Factors contributing to the strength of the IPO market include the rebounding capital market, the demand for investment opportunities, business conditions in China, and the weak markets in Germany and France. Examples of IPOs include K-Sea Transportation Partners LP which raised $86 million. Statistics show the number of deals made and amounts raised during the years 2000 to 2003. Analysts including Jeffrey Rubin of Hogan & Hartson LLP, Jonathan E. Cole of Edwards & Angell LLP, and Tracy Lefteroff of PricewaterhouseCoopers comment on the outlook for IPOs.
