- Abstract
This article discusses the concept of corporate integrity. The U.S. Congress imposed new regulations during the summer of 2002 following a series of financial accounting scandals. Beth Nickels, chief financial officer (CFO) of Herman Miller Inc. believes that the laws will delay the economic recovery by creating more administrative burdens. The article presents the views of several high level executives on corporate ethics including James M. Schneider, CFO of Dell Computer Corp.; Michael J. Critelli, chief executive officer of Pitney Bowes Inc.; and Clarence Otis, CFO of Darden Restaurants Inc. INSET: Will Ethics Training Prevent Scandals?.
