The article discusses the achievements of Elaine Goodell, corporate controller at Liz Claiborne. Under her tenure Liz Claiborne has achieved 30% cost savings without widespread layoffs. Three initiatives have been foundational to her success. By constantly educating and cross-training employees, her firm maintains a motivated and flexible work force.
