- Abstract
Social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way that we provide veterinary services and teach our students. The most challenging aspect of this teaching methodology is that it (ideally) requires three individuals to be actively involved: the instructor/clinician, an animal handler and a second camera operator, who can assist with the animal handling necessary in some cases. However, this approach does allow real-time student participation in the clinical management of patients, through timely discussions about differential diagnoses, diagnostic approaches and treatment recommendations.
