- Abstract
Kryashens who have oneness in roots, language and history with Tatars have considered as a different ethnic group from the beginning of their baptizing until nowadays during historical process. Generally, they were excluded by Russians because of not being Slavs, and by Tatars because of not being Muslims. However, after the collapse of the Soviet Union Russian Orthodox Church has tried to get closer to them. Regarding Kryashen Tatars as a Turkish group who passed from Islam to Christianity they are very interesting and important from Turkish cultural and Turkish history of religion point of view. From this perspective they also carve out a different aspect of Turkish culture.
