- Abstract
The article reflects on the work of several authors describing adultery and divorces in them. Topics discussed include Vladimir Nabokov's novel "Mary" reflecting on extramarital reunion, and repeated attempts of husband and wife to break up, a narrator discovering his German girlfriend in Berlin has been betraying him with a married man in the book "In Memory of L.I. Shigaev", and Nabokov's third novel "The Defense" being summarized as the story of a very unhappy marriage.
