- Authors
LOZAT, MÉLANIE
- Abstract
In the ancient tradition, Curets are considered as the inventors of the dance in arms that they perform around the infant Zeus in order to save him from his fatal destiny, until they become, in the imperial period, armed and possessed dancers. This article proposes to explore the question of the dance of the Couretes. Beyond the mythical model of this dance, it will examine the gestures performed by officiants or ministers of religion, under the title of Couretes, during ceremonies.
