- Abstract
The article presents a study on the music preservice teacher training program that enhanced language arts reading skills in the elementary music classroom. The researchers assessed the language arts programs, accredited with the National Association of Schools of Music, that can mainstream reading in music classrooms. It revealed the need for awareness of concepts, instructor modeling of reading strategies, and integrative practices for reading and preservice teacher preparation programs.
