- Abstract
The article focuses on a research which revealed that piracetam, a nootropic drug, cannot prevent the pain experienced by children and adolescents with sickle cell disease (SCD). It provides an overview of the double-blinded crossed placebo-control clinical trial in 73 children and adolescents suffering from pain. It discusses the impact of piracetam on the level of pain and days of hospitalization of the patients.
