- Title
THE JEWISH RESPONSE TO THE LOS ANGELES RIOTS.
- Authors
Rubin, Susan E.
- Abstract
The article presents a historical review of the initiatives of the Jewish community in Los Angeles, California in response to the aftermath of the unrest in the city on April 29, 1992 wherein more than 60 Jewish-owned businesses had been torched by rioters. A dissenting view of multiculturalism and the issue of God-based morality against a lack of responsibility to a higher authority by radio personality and author Dennis Prager has been addressed to mark the underlying causes of the riots in general. It also describes the manner in which the American Jewish Committee, the American Jewish Congress and the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith went about responding to the riots.
