- Abstract
The purpose of this scoping review was to (a) identify employment-based interventions for working-aged adults with multiple sclerosis (MS) in maintaining employment or re-entering the workforce, and (b) examine the quality of these interventional studies. Multiple strategies were used to search for studies published between 2000 and April 2021 across five databases, and five studies were identified. Common interventional components included initial interview and assessment, as well as psychoeducation and consultation for individuals. The identified interventions were shown to increase employment rate, work ability, and insight. However, the number of such interventions was relatively small and the quality of the studies was rated as low to moderate. Recommendations for rehabilitation practitioners and researchers are provided based on the findings.
