- Abstract
With each passing year, the prevalence of internet and mobile devices, the time and space independent nature of access to online social networks, changes the routine/flow of daily life. According to Manuel Castells, as a result of the development of internet technologies, the cultural and social change experienced has created the "network society". In network societies where the real and the virtual are mixed, the perception of life is also is transforming. According to Baudrillard, since it is not possible to talk about reality in this era of hyperreality, the term fake is left to simulation. The selves of individuals are also shaped according to the habitus of the social media platform of which they are participant. Whether it's for making friends, texting, creating an album or joining a professional business network, the common feature of these online social networks is the "flawless" images reflected in the profiles. Whether for self-presentation or information sharing, individuals here stage a perfect performance. The cultural acceleration of flawlessness also changes daily life practices. In this study, which investigates reality, self and cultural change through social networks, the focus is on the phenomenon of flawlessness. Considering the saturation of researches about daily life in Turkey, which is candidate for the world leadership in the use of social media, it is predicted that the investigation of the new problematic "phenomenon of flawlessness" through online patterns will also contribute to the studies in communication anthropology. In the research, the information obtained as a result of the literature review was interpreted with a critical perspective in the conclusion section.
