- Abstract
The article discusses possible waiver protection for U.S. Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) in relation to a legal prohibition of beneficiary inducement. The role of Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) ACOs under the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is noted. Financial incentives for patient retention, information asymmetry problems, and the need for patient involvement in care decisions are mentioned.
