- Abstract
The article discusses commercial speech and the use of identified information for a specific purpose in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's (USSC) 2011 ruling in the case Sorrell v. IMS Health Inc. Vermont's statutory prohibition against the disclosure of records containing prescriber-identifiable information is also examined in light of the USSC's interpretation of commercial speech. Several lawsuits involving bans on the disclosure of true information are mentioned, including Florida Star v. B.J.F. and Cox Broadcasting Corp. v. Cohn.
