- Abstract
The article explores the importance of the construction of microgrids in the U.S. It offers a technical description of microgrids and how their adoption would be vital in solving energy challenges in the U.S. It explores the history of energy regulation and how it created barriers to the implementation of microgrids. It also looks at the provisions in the promotion of microgrids and suggests a regulatory scheme that would overcome regulatory barriers which would encourage developers to invest in their construction.
