- Title
Creating a National Diabetes Foot Screening Programme -- the Scottish experience.
- Authors
Stang, Duncan
- Abstract
The article describes the setting up of a national diabetes foot screening programme in Scotland. It indicates that foot screening is widely recognised as the starting point for all aspects of high-quality diabetes foot care. It also observes that the adoption by Scotland of the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) categorisation of diabetic foot status and the ability of associated health care professionals (HCPs) to record reliable foot data demonstrate the extent of culture change in Scotland.
