- Abstract
A method of signal processing is proposed that allows one to determine the propagation time of pulsed signals, the dispersion, and the selective absorption in the medium when the shape of the pulses is substantially distorted under the effect of the two aforementioned factors and noise. The method is based on measuring the complex frequency response of the propagation path for a narrow frequency band within which the frequency response is governed by the desired parameters of the medium. To determine the parameters of the path from the data of acoustic measurements, both cepstral analysis and numerical differentiation are used. The data of numerical experiments are presented.
