- Abstract
The article discusses library user education in light of online tools including RSS feeds, RSS readers, and social bookmarking tools. The author notes a program to educate academic librarians at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand about these tools. The tools discussed are said to save user time, promote information literacy, and allow librarians to act as innovators. RSS readers evaluated include Bloglines, Google Reader, and Microsoft Outlook 2007 Feed Reader, while social bookmarking tools including Citeulike, Delicious, and Diigo are discussed.
