Twelfth Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Society for Immunology.
- Abstract
This article focuses on medical cases discussed in the 12th Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Society for Immunology. In one case, the patient was a 62 year old male, admitted with low WBC with 61% lymphocytes, diffuse bone marrow infiltration of lymphocytes, elevated S-lactate dehydrogenase, and effusion in the pleural space. The patient had an identical twin who died ten months before him of CLL and a nephew who died two years before of AML. In another case, the 14-valent pneumococcal vaccine or a control H.influenzae type b vaccine was randomly given to 827 children with one or more previous attacks of acute otitis media. The vaccines were tolerated well.
