- Abstract
The article examines science and religion vis-à-vis the law and the issue of Native American repatriation. It discusses the 1990 Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), along with discourses of science and religion function in relation to NAGPRA to limit the rights of native peoples with regard to their dead. The author explores the legal and cultural issues linked to native repatriation with reference to the common law history on rights to graves and the deceased.
