- Abstract
The article presents a case report of a hospice patient who might have died from the abrupt discontinuation of steroid therapy and discusses the time to death after steroid medication was stopped. The retrospective case view involves a 60-year-old male patient with a history of myelodysplastic syndrome who had been receiving 25 mg of prednisone daily for more than a year. Potential causes of death include acute adrenal crisis.
