- Abstract
This article discusses a case of a 69-year-old man who experienced bilateral hearing loss following an accidental fall. The patient had a history of uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed bilateral infarction in both inferior colliculi, which are involved in the auditory system. The article highlights the rarity of isolated midbrain infarction and emphasizes the importance of considering stroke as a potential cause of sudden bilateral deafness. The study suggests that immediate screening for stroke should be conducted in patients experiencing sudden onset bilateral deafness.
