- Authors
Sanders, Arnold
- Abstract
The article discusses the author's views on the epitaph transcription of the two copies of Stow's 1561 Chaucer edition. He mentions that verses on the Chaucer's tomb were seem to be clearly written in early-modern hands of which the inscription of first is more complete than other. He also adds that literary works of Geoffrey D. Chaucer are sample of a more widespread pattern of readers, editors and printers when Chaucer manuscripts were being replaced by print editions.
