- Abstract
The article discusses a study on the effect of aspirin discontinuation on pregnant women at high risk for preterm preeclampsia conducted by M. Mendoza, published in a 2023 issue of the "Journal of the American Medical Association." Study authors linked aspirin to an increased risk of peripartum bleeding but it decreases the incidence of preterm preeclampsia in pregnant women. Guidelines suggest setting the threshold for classifying women at high risk for preeclampsia in the first trimester.
