- Abstract
The article discusses Waterloo's relation to Romantic poetry and history and mentions a series of lectures on poetry that poet James Montgomery published in the 1830s. It mentions that according to Montgomery, war formed the historical grounds for Romantic poetry because war rendered ordinary life visionary. It also mentions establishment of a relation between war and poetry having similarity in recent scholarship on Romanticism and war.
