- Title
Parental divergence and hybrid speciation in angiosperms revisited.
- Authors
Paun, Ovidiu; Forest, Félix; Fay, Michael F.; Chase, Mark W.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the oversimplification of polyploid formation by excluding autopolyploids and misinterpretation of results due to incomplete analysis of the study. They note the inappropriate inclusion of autopolyploids in analyses considering hybrid speciation. They also stress that they did not include autopolypoids in calculations regarding processes of hybrid speciation since they are not products of hybridization and do not combine divergent genomes in a single nucleus.
