- Title
Homage to James Herndon.
- Authors
Hardin, Sam
- Abstract
The article features the literary works of author and teacher James Herndon in San Francisco, California. Little has been written about him or his writing beyond that in the obituaries published in a few newspapers and periodicals. Herndon wrote much about public school teaching, because he had taught in public schools for thirty years. Some of his books include, "The Way It Spozed to Be," "How to Survive in Your Native Laud" and "Notes from a Schoolteacher." He described hopeful, realistic ways for public school teachers to deal with children who had problems fitting into regular classrooms.
