- Abstract
This article, published in the Chemistry of Natural Compounds journal, explores the secondary metabolites found in the stalks of Cucurbita moschata, a species of pumpkin commonly consumed in Asia. While the fruit of this plant has been extensively studied for its health benefits, the stalks have been largely unexplored. The researchers identified several compounds in the stalks, including isoflavones, benzenoids, steroids, and fatty acids. Many of these compounds were obtained for the first time from this plant. This research contributes to the understanding of the chemical composition of Cucurbita moschata and its potential health benefits.
