- Abstract
This article discusses a surgical method called unilateral pectineal suspension (UPS) for correcting apical prolapse, a condition where the pelvic organs descend into the vaginal canal. UPS is a mesh-free alternative that preserves the uterus and has shown excellent short-term results in a retrospective analysis of 47 patients. The article provides a detailed description of the key steps involved in UPS and highlights its advantages, such as being easily reproducible, time-efficient, and cost-effective. The authors emphasize that UPS meets quality criteria for pelvic organ prolapse correction and can be considered for day case surgery.
