- Abstract
The experiment was to investigate the effect of different doses of Chinese herbal medicine feed additives on production performance of egg breed chicken. A total of 600 27-week-old yellow-footed Ma chickens were randomly divided into four groups, with 10 replicates per group and 15 chickens per replicate. The chickens in control group were fed with basal diet, chickens in group Ⅰ, group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ were fed with the basal diet with 0.5%, 1.0% and 2.0% compound Chinese herbal medicine, respectively. The experiment period was 21 d. The results showed that the laying rate of test group Ⅱ was 78.5%, which was significantly higher than other groups (P<0.05). The fertilization rate of test group Ⅱ was 94.5%, rising trend compared with other groups. The hatchability of fertilized eggs in test group Ⅱ was 97.0%, which was significantly higher than other groups (P<0.05). The healthy chick rate of test Ⅱ group was 96.8%, which was significantly higher than other groups (P<0.05). The mortality rate of test group Ⅱ was 0.66%, there was a downward trend compared with other groups. The experiment indicates that adding 1.0% compound Chinese herbal medicine feed additive to diet can increase the production performance of the yellow-footed Ma egg breed chicken.
