The Constitution of India being written constitutes the fundamental law of the land. All democratic constitutions recognize the fundamental right to life and personal liberty. In modern constitutions this freedom too is not recognised in absolute terms. But the judiciary in India has widened the scope & dimensions of this right to a large extent.
