- Abstract
The study aims to define the concept of climate change, its causes, international agreements in this regard, monitor its climatic effects on libraries, determine the awareness of managers and hall managers in Misr public libraries of the impact of climate changes, monitor the climatic factors affecting the services and activities provided by Misr public libraries, and identify the influencing factors. In designing the buildings of Misr public libraries, and developing future proposals to adapt to these changes and achieve a better and more sustainable future for Misr public libraries., and the questionnaire as tools for data collection, and the study concluded that the workers in Misr public libraries are aware of global and local initiatives related to climate change and its effects, and that various climatic factors such as high temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, and others have affected libraries severely, whether economically, or on holdings, services, and activities that they provided by Misr public libraries, as well as the design of buildings from the inside and outside, in terms of (thermal insulation - ventilation system - natural and industrial lighting - paints - solar energy) and others. climate, issuing periodic reports on climate change, collecting and analyzing information in this regard and making it available to the public by the relevant institutions and ministries, the need to issue legislation specific to climate change, promote awareness of such changes among members of society, take into account climate changes in services and activities, and design the buildings of Misr public libraries, With the need for continuous follow-up by those in charge of public libraries in Egypt to the impact of climate change on libraries and the extent to which they are affected by these changes.
