- Abstract
This article examines the use of voice recognition technologies and the artistic possibilities of communicating with computers and the Internet. The author discusses some of the benefits that voice recognition technology could bring to the Internet including advances in accessibility, mobility and usability of the Web. The author discusses a voice mosaic that she created that produces images based on the voice interactions between the Internet and telephones. She discusses how art acts as a barometer of society in light of this relationship between art and technology. She discusses how the voice mosaic was designed and some of the technological and artistic implications of this work of art.
