- Title
Optimierte Oberflächen fürhygienesensible Branchen.
- Abstract
The company Bolz Intec, in collaboration with the University of Konstanz, has investigated the properties of surfaces in hygiene-sensitive industries such as the food and pharmaceutical industries. It was found that different grinding methods exhibit different particle adhesion behaviors, even though the Ra value of the surfaces is the same. Bolz Intec has developed a process called Optimized Grind Finishing (OGF), in which the surface is treated with geometrically undefined grinding bodies. This process results in reduced particle adhesion and improved cleaning. The OGF process also reduces residual dirt adhesion in containers, thus reducing the risk of batch contamination. This process could be particularly important in industries such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical technology.
