- Authors
Price, Monroe E.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the impact of cable television on the quality of life and the society in the U.S. It highlights the crisis in the administration of the fairness doctrine of broadcasting, which is said to have resulted from the gap between the lack of equality of access in facts. It notes that cable eliminates scarcity, the monopoly of status of the programmer, and the chaos and anxiety that surround the implementation of the fairness doctrine. The relationship between the viewer and the television set is explored.
