MUSICOTERAPIA NA MELHORA DA FUNÇÃO COGNITIVA EM IDOSOS COM ALZHEIMER: UMA REVISÃO.

- Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO: A Doença de Alzheimer (DA) é uma patologia caracterizada pela degeneração neurológica e cognitiva de forma gradual. Existem métodos complementares não farmacológicos que sugerem um declínio na evolução da doença. O objetivo desta revisão é analisar o efeito da musicoterapia em idosos com DA. METODOLOGIA: As palavras Alzheimer e Musicoterapia, Alzheimer e Terapia com música e Azheimer disease's and music therapy foram pesquisados nas bases de dados PubMed e Scielo em setembro de 2018. O critério de inclusão foram o ano de publicação (2013 a 2018) nos idiomas português ou inglês, com avaliações cognitivas, restringido pelos filtros GERIATRIA, HUMANOS e +65 ANOS. DISCUSSÃO: Foram encontrados 13 artigos, sendo selecionados 5 para este estudo. Os artigos resultantes da pesquisa correlacionaram diferentes intervenções, incluindo a música, em grupos de pacientes idosos em diferentes fases do Alzheimer, comparando os resultados entre si e/ou a um grupo controle. Dentre os artigos selecionados para esta revisão, 4 artigos apresentaram resultados positivos após a terapia com música na melhora da função cognitiva. Observou-se melhora da cognição global, assim como estabilização na memória verbal e episódica. Apenas 1 artigo não identificou significância na diferença do resultado cognitivo entre os grupos com e sem música, no entanto, foi o único que apresentou resultados levando em consideração intervenção farmacológica. A música obtém efeito através da ativação dos padrões neuronais antes não incitados profundamente, ou seja, ameniza o déficit cognitivo melhorando o domínio da função neurológica e cognição geral, preservando a memória autobiográfica, e acelerando a velocidade psicomotora. CONCLUSÃO: A musicoterapia além de não apresentar efeitos adversos possui ótima aplicabilidade e demonstrou benefícios cognitivos, resultados mais expressivos em idosos com DA no estágio inicial do que avançado.
