- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which compared resting energy expenditure (REE) between Asians and whites after adjusting for fat-free mass quantified using a two- or more-compartment model. The study groups were composed of white men and women and Asian men and women whose REE were measured with a ventilated hood system under strictly controlled conditions. A background of the models used in the study is presented. Also presented are the findings of the study.
