- Abstract
The pandemic offers us a life-size test of the immobility of as many people as possible. This text offers a brief immersion, in Montreal, in the world of the deprivation of displacement. The text describes the mobility issues in Montreal before the pandemic and then specifies the new challenges that arise from living in isolation. What emerges from reading these pages is the predominance of inequity when it comes to thwarting the perverse effects of forced immobility. We were also charmed by the invitation to imagine the world after, Montreal post-Covid-19. This is why the conclusion draws up two major trends that stem from our new way of existence: pulling the world up to oneself & appreciating the sense of place.
