- Abstract
The authors discuss the impact of crowdsourcing on marketing research. It is said that marketers now have access to "crowds" like they never have before due to the Internet, smartphones and the increase in social media participation. The smartphone and other portable mobile devices creates an opportunity to "ping" the crowd for advice. Crowdfunding offers a stream for the funding to bring them to market and helps entrepreneurs, whether from small nonprofits or very large companies, with a source of funding.
