- Abstract
The book "James and Whitehead on Life After Death" by David Ray Griffin explores the philosophical and metaphysical questions surrounding the concept of life after death. The author examines the challenges of retaining personal identity in a disembodied state and the difficulties of a resurrected body maintaining the same identity. Griffin draws on the works of William James and Alfred North Whitehead to argue for the plausibility of human survival after death. While neither James nor Whitehead definitively answered the question of life after death, Griffin presents their ideas as supporting the possibility of an immortal soul existing apart from the physical body.
