- Abstract
In this study, alginate-TiO2-algae composites were synthesized and they were used as adsorbent to remove tetracycline from aqueous solutions. This new composite has provided effective an adsorption yield. In batch experiments examined the effects of parameters such as solution pH, initial pollution concentration, composite amount, and temperature. The adsorption equilibrium data for different temperature are fitted to the Langmuir, Freundlich, and D-R isotherm models. The Qm values of TC by alginate-TiO2-algae composites for different temperature were 61 mg/g, 473 mg/g ve 379 mg/g, respectively. The alginate-TiO2-algae composites were characterized using FTIR, and SEM analysis. These results show that non ecotoxicological alginate-TiO2-algae composites can be a very effective adsorbent for the removal of tetracycline from aqueous solutions.
