- Abstract
An essay is presented on the aspects of a particular form of spirit possession at Indian Islamic shrines called hāzirī. It offers information about hāzirī, which is practiced by women of all religious backgrounds at the shrines of Muslim saints and martyrs. The author discussed the learning of the practice by using the lens of feminist scholarship and what feminist scholarship itself might learn from the practice.
