- Abstract
The article looks at Jewish literature and historical sources to examine why the Israeli public and lawmakers have developed apathetic attitude toward trafficking. The fact that the trafficked women were not Jewish or Israeli is one possible explanation for the lack of government action. The findings of research on the effects of trafficking are presented. It discusses the topic of modern day trafficking of women through the perspectives of human rights approaches derived from Jewish texts.
