- Title
Myzus dianthicola H.R.L. on Glasshouse Carnations in England.
- Authors
Blackman, R. L.
- Abstract
Myzus persicae were found infesting carnations in a glasshouse at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire in September 1973. The infestation caused striking leaf chlorosis similar to that which results from the feeding of the redbrown species Myzus certus on Caryophyllaceae. However, the Cheshunt aphids were of a deep yellow-green hue. M. persicae does not normally cause chlorotic feeding damage to carnations and, although very variable in color is never in the writer's experience such a deep shade of yellow-green as these aphids.
