- Abstract
Tawafah institutions are the most important and prominent social institutions of professional and organizational work in the service industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is concerned with the welfare of millions of pilgrims every year, who come to the holy places from all parts of the world, with different languages and sects, and have great expectations to perform Hajj and Omrah comfortably. No doubt, these institutions are taken into account in the evaluation of the services provided by the Kingdom to the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God. In fact, the success of the Kingdom's efforts in providing services to pilgrims depends not only on the availability of services and facilities, but also requires the efficiency of the agencies responsible for providing these services and unifying and coordinating efforts among themselves to increase the effectiveness of these services, and be updated to the development of renewable needs of pilgrims, the ever changing problems facing them, to provide solutions to them on the basis of elaborate scientific grounds to help the pilgrims and Omrah performers achieve their aims and ambitions as easily as possible. This study was an attempt to analyze the role of vocational institutions of Tawafah, which is known as the system of the services performed for the pilgrims, the problems and difficulties faced by these institutions at the administrative, organizational and vocational training levels, and the analysis of the opinions of the employees of these institutions to increase the efficiency of the services provided by them within what is known as the era of the service industry. This study is a part of a pattern of "METADATA" studies which adopted the method of "social survey sample". As a basis for achieving its objectives, the study was applied to the six Tawafah institutions at the Holy City of Makkah Al-Mukarramah: civil institution of South Asian pilgrims; pilgrims foundation of Southeast Asia; the foundation of Arab States Pilgrims; Turkey and Muslim pilgrims Foundation of Europe, America, Australia; and the foundation for the Pilgrims' services, Iran pilgrim; and foundation of non-Arab African countries' pilgrims. The study tried to identify the nature of the role of the professional institutions of Tawafah at the administrative level, organizational system and vocational training. The study concluded the need for planning to develop a set of indicators to increase the efficiency of the services provided by these institutions to make pilgrims perform their rituals at ease.
