The article focuses on the American University of Kuwait (AUK). AUK's distinction as a finance and business college, its American liberal arts model, and the Gulf Studies Program at AUK are discussed. The effect of anthropology courses about the Arab world on the melding of American and Kuwaiti cultures in the AUK classroom is noted.
