- Title
US Carriers to Launch Daily, Nonstop China Routes.
- Abstract
The article announces the launch of two new routes to China by U.S. air carriers in March and June 2008. Delta Airlines Inc. will launch a route between Atlanta and Shanghai, while United Airlines Corp. will begin its operation between San Francisco and Guangzhou, Guangdong. These two nonstop flights to China were approved by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The addition of these routes is a response to the U.S.-China Air Transport Agreement that aimed to double the number of daily passenger flights to China by 2010. Two charts are presented depicting the direct passenger flights for U.S. airlines and the People's Republic of China (PRC) airlines between the U.S. and China.
