- Abstract
The article reports on the seafood production of Australia in 2008-2009, wherein, the combined growth in salmon and prawn production added to the gross value of the countries fisheries production which remains stable at 2.2 billion dollars. It states that Australia spends more on imported seafood products that it exports, in which the total value of imports increase by 22% to 1.7 billion dollars. It says that most of the growths were from Tasmania, which produces over 95% of salmon production.
