An editorial is presented on direct autologous blood transfusion in cardiac tamponade. Topics discussed include acute myocardial perforation during an invasive electrophysiology procedure; most cardiac tamponade resolves after pericardiocentesis alone; and performing invasive electrophysiology procedures that were complicated by acute cardiac perforation.
