- Abstract
The Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, also known as the Norwood Syndrome, is a clinical complex entity, a part of the cardiac congenital maladies, with a birth frequency of 1/5000. It is a severe disease with an important mortality index after-birth. The lack of development of the left ventricle and the atresia or stenosis of mitral and aortic orifices mainly characterizes the syndrome. I noticed that the specialized literature does not include photographic iconographies, owing to the fact that all articles use only explaining schemes. This fact has determined us to achieve a suggestive dissection, which we hope, will give a better image (formation) to the specialist doctors interested in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of this syndrome. Certainly not the least, we believe that such grim prognosis could be better explained to the patient.s caregivers with these pictures.
